Prunotto, a historic estate in Piedmont now managed by the Antinori family, has a legacy dating back to 1904. The Castiglione Faletto Riserva represents the pinnacle of Nebbiolo from the steep, clay-limestone soils of the Castiglione Faletto commune. This terroir is legendary for producing Barolo that strikes a perfect balance between the powerful structure of Serralunga d'Alba and the elegant, perfumed aromatics of La Morra. Crafted only in exceptional vintages, this Riserva undergoes extended maceration and years of patient aging in large oak casks, allowing the fierce Nebbiolo tannins to soften into a complex tapestry of dried roses, tar, leather, and dark cherry.

Prunottos rødder går tilbage til 1904, hvor kooperativet Cantina Sociale 'Ai Vini delle Langhe' blev grundlagt i Serralunga d'Alba – et foretagende, som Alfredo Prunotto i 1920'erne overtog og genrejste under eget navn. Fra 1956 udviklede vinhuset sig under den legendariske vinmager Beppe Colla til en sand pioner inden for enkeltmarksaftapninger i Piemonte; her markerede Barolo Bussia fra årgang 1961 et historisk pejlemærke for regionen. Siden 1994 har ejendommen været i hænderne på den toscanske vinfamilie Marchesi Antinori, og Prunotto råder i dag over cirka 65 hektar på nogle af de ypperste parceller i Langhe og Monferrato. Dyrkningen drager fuld fordel af områdets klassiske mosaik af kalkholdigt ler og tortonisk mergel, som i samspil med markante døgntemperatursvingninger indfanger de fineste mikroklimatiske nuancer.
