Hailing from the rolling hills of Asti in Italy's prestigious Piedmont region, Prunotto's 'Fiulot' is a vibrant celebration of the Barbera grape. The name 'Fiulot' translates to 'young man' or 'boy' in the local Piedmontese dialect—a fitting moniker for a wine defined by its youthful, energetic, and approachable character. Prunotto, a historic estate with roots dating back to the early 20th century and now under the stewardship of the Antinori family, crafts this Barbera d'Asti to showcase the pure, unadorned essence of the varietal. Grown in soils rich in clay and sand, the grapes benefit from a microclimate that coaxes out intense aromatic complexity. To preserve its bright primary fruit profile, the wine undergoes fermentation and brief aging entirely in stainless steel tanks, avoiding oak contact. This meticulous process yields a ruby-red wine bursting with red cherry, plum, and subtle floral notes, balanced by the grape's signature lively acidity.

Vingården blev oprindeligt grundlagt i 1904 som kooperativet 'Ai Vini delle Langhe', men i 1922 overtog den visionære vinmager Alfredo Prunotto ejendommen og lagde grundstenen til et sandt kvalitetsfyrtårn i Alba i Piemonte. Efter årtier som pioner inden for enkeltmarks-cru-aftapninger under Colla-familien blev det historiske vinhus i 1989 en del af Marchesi Antinori, hvilket forenede toscansk vinarv med klassiske piemontesiske traditioner. Prunotto mestrer præcisionsdyrkning og terroir-drevet vinfremstilling på tværs af regionens bedste parceller og frembringer legendariske Nebbiolo-fortolkninger som Barolo Bussia og Barbaresco Bric Turot side om side med levende Barbera d'Asti, frisk Roero Arneis og forædlede grappaer.
