✨ wine.spec_sheet

Hailing from the steep, sandy hills of Monteu Roero on the left bank of the Tanaro River, Prunotto's Bric Rossino is a masterful expression of Nebbiolo. Unlike the heavy clay soils of neighboring Barolo, the Roero's soils are rich in sand and marine fossils left behind by an ancient prehistoric sea. This unique terroir imparts an ethereal perfume, vibrant acidity, and silky, approachable tannins to the Nebbiolo grape. The historic Prunotto estate, which has shaped the winemaking legacy of Piedmont since the early 20th century, crafts this Riserva with meticulous care. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes extended aging in oak casks to develop complexity while preserving its signature wild strawberry, floral, and spicy characteristics. The name 'Bric' refers to the crest of the hill, representing the sun-drenched vineyard site where the grapes achieve optimal ripeness.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Established in 1923 when Alfredo Prunotto acquired the cooperative 'Ai Vini delle Langhe,' the Prunotto winery is situated in Alba, in the heart of Italy's Piedmont region. Under the stewardship of the Antinori family since 1989, the estate has consistently championed the diverse terroirs of the Langhe and Monferrato hills. Prunotto balances traditional Piedmontese winemaking practices, such as aging in large oak casks, with modern precision to craft elegant, terroir-driven wines. The winery is celebrated for its exceptional single-vineyard expressions, including the Barolo Bussia and Barbaresco Bric Turot, alongside classic regional styles like Nebbiolo d'Alba Occhetti and Roero Arneis.
