Porca de Murca is one of Portugal's most historic and celebrated wine brands, created by Real Companhia Velha in 1928. The name is inspired by a famous prehistoric granite monument of a wild boar (the 'Sow of Murca') that stands in the town square of Murca, accompanied by local legends of a heroic hunt. The Reserva Tinto represents a selection of traditional grape varieties grown on the steep, schistous slopes of the Douro Valley. Vinified with modern temperature control and aged in oak casks, this wine showcases the classic Douro character: deep ruby color, aromas of ripe red and black fruits integrated with subtle oak spice, and a structured, velvety palate with balanced acidity. It reflects the rich winemaking heritage of the region, combining approachable fruitiness with the complexity expected of a Reserva.

Founded in 1756 by Royal Charter of King José I under the guidance of the Marquis of Pombal, Real Companhia Velha is the oldest and most historic wine enterprise in Portugal. With its storied maturation cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia and sprawling estate vineyards across the Douro Valley, the company was central to the creation of the world's first officially demarcated wine region.
