Quinta de Cidro is located in the municipality of São João da Pesqueira, within the Cima Corgo sub-region of the Douro. Acquired by Real Companhia Velha in 1972, this historic estate became a pioneering ground for viticultural innovation, where international grape varieties were planted alongside traditional Portuguese ones. The Quinta de Cidro Reserva Tinto showcases this experimental spirit, typically blending the noble Touriga Nacional with Cabernet Sauvignon. Grown on a high-altitude plateau at approximately 600 meters, the vines benefit from cooler nights that preserve acidity and freshness, contrasting with the Douro's typical baking heat.
