Quinta dos Aciprestes is located on the left bank of the Douro River, stretching across slopes of slate and schist in the Cima Corgo sub-region. The estate's name, meaning 'Estate of the Cypresses,' hints at its unique landscape where cypress trees stand alongside historic vineyards. This Reserva Tinto is crafted from selected parcels of traditional Douro varieties, benefiting from the estate's hot, dry microclimate which yields small, highly concentrated berries. Real Companhia Velha employs modern temperature-controlled fermentation alongside traditional maceration to extract deep color and structured tannins, followed by aging in French oak barrels. The resulting wine is a powerful, dark-fruited expression of the Douro, marked by ripe plum, blackberry, and subtle spicy oak notes, grounded by a distinct mineral backbone characteristic of its schistose terroir.
