Named after the classic idiom meaning to be in an enviable or highly advantageous position, RedHeads 'Catbird Seat' celebrates the winery's triumph in securing exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the highly coveted terra rossa soils of Coonawarra. This legendary strip of red clay over limestone is world-renowned for producing Cabernet of peerless structure and intense varietal character. True to the rebellious and narrative-driven spirit of RedHeads, the wine is crafted in small batches with minimal intervention, allowing the classic regional hallmarks of dark cassis, minty eucalyptus, and fine-grained French oak tannins to shine through. It represents a winemaker sitting pretty, having secured some of the finest fruit South Australia has to offer.

Founded in the early 2000s as an unconventional garagiste collective in South Australia, RedHeads was created to liberate talented winemakers from corporate constraints and allow them to craft expressive, small-batch passion projects. Today operating from a purpose-built, eco-friendly winery in the Barossa Valley, the producer focuses on sustainable viticulture, utilizing solar energy, water reclamation, and gentle, hands-on production methods. Sourcing prime fruit from dedicated growers across South Australia's premier sub-regions, RedHeads crafts daring, fruit-forward wines that challenge conventional styles.
