RedHeads Coco Rotie is a clever, cheeky Australian homage to the legendary Syrah-Viognier blends of the Northern Rhone's Cote-Rotie. Crafted by the rebellious winemaking team at RedHeads, this wine utilizes the traditional technique of co-fermenting a small portion of aromatic white Viognier grapes alongside robust South Australian Shiraz. Rather than blending finished wines, the grapes are fermented together, allowing the Viognier to chemically bind with the Shiraz. This stabilizes the deep, ink-like color and coaxes out exotic floral aromas of apricot and violet. Sourced from select low-yielding vineyards in South Australia, the wine undergoes careful maturation in oak barrels to integrate its rich dark fruit flavors with subtle spice and velvety tannins, resulting in a voluptuous yet remarkably perfume-lifted red.
