RedHeads Vin'atus is a bold, narrative-driven red blend that pays homage to the spirit of the ancient Roman 'venatus' (the hunt or game), translated here into the passionate pursuit of crafting exceptional wine from Iberian grape varieties in South Australia. Grown in the warm, sun-drenched vineyards of the region, this wine typically brings together Tempranillo and Graciano. These varieties thrive in the Mediterranean-like climate of South Australia, yielding deep, savory, and intensely aromatic fruit. RedHeads utilizes small-batch fermentation and careful oak aging to tame the rustic, vibrant tannins of Graciano while highlighting the fleshy, dark-cherry core of Tempranillo, resulting in a complex, deeply structured wine with a rebellious Australian twist.

Established in 2002 in McLaren Vale by Tony Laithwaite as a collaborative studio for rebellious winemakers, RedHeads has since evolved into a state-of-the-art, eco-friendly winery located in the Barossa Valley, South Australia. Operating from its custom-built, solar-powered facility in Nuriootpa since 2019, the winery is dedicated to rescuing small, premium parcels of grapes from independent growers to craft expressive, small-batch wines. RedHeads is celebrated for its highly characterful, narrative-driven labels, producing acclaimed reds and whites such as the Dogs of the Barossa Shiraz, Whip-Hand Cabernet Sauvignon, and Esule, which showcase the diverse terroirs of South Australia with minimal intervention and maximum personality.
