Hailing from the steep, south-southwest-facing slopes of the Kaseler Kehrnagel vineyard in the cool Ruwer valley, this Riesling Kabinett is a masterclass in tension and minerality. The Ruwer, a tributary of the Mosel, is renowned for its cooler microclimate, influenced by the nearby forests, which allows the grapes to ripen slowly while retaining a vibrant, electric acidity. The soils here are dominated by weathered blue Devonian slate, imparting a distinct flinty, smoky minerality to the wine. Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt coaxes an ethereal elegance from this terroir, crafting a classic Kabinett that balances delicate sweetness with bracing crispness. Historically, the wines of the Ruwer were highly prized by Prussian royalty for their unmatched finesse, and this bottling continues that legacy with its signature notes of green apple, white peach, and wild herbs.
