✨ Technical Specifications

Hailing from the legendary Kaseler Nies'chen vineyard in the Ruwer valley, a tributary of the Mosel, this Grosses Gewächs (GG) represents the pinnacle of dry Riesling from Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt. The vineyard itself is steeped in history, situated on a dizzyingly steep, south-facing slope composed of decomposed blue and red Devonian slate. This unique terroir, combined with the cooler microclimate of the Ruwer, yields a wine of immense tension, precision, and aromatic complexity. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged on its fine lees, this dry Riesling showcases the estate's commitment to minimal-intervention winemaking, capturing the classic Ruwer profile of white peach, flinty minerality, and a delicate, herbal spice.

🍾 About the Producer

With a documented winemaking legacy dating back to 1349, Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt is one of the most historic and revered wine estates in Germany's Mosel region. Headquartered at Schloss Marienlay in the Ruwer valley and owned by the Reh family since 1978, the estate holds an extraordinary footprint spanning the three distinct river valleys of the Mosel, Saar, and Ruwer. Dedicated almost exclusively to steep-slope Riesling cultivation, the winery stewards world-renowned VDP.Grosse Lage vineyard sites such as the Saar's Scharzhofberger, the Ruwer's Kaseler Nies'chen, and their historic Mosel monopole, Josephshöfer. Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt is celebrated for crafting site-expressive, mineral-driven Rieslings that range from vibrant dry expressions to profound, age-worthy noble sweet Prädikat wines.
