Hailing from the cool, wind-swept Saar valley, the Oberemmeler Karlsberg vineyard is renowned for its steep slopes and iron-rich Devonian slate soils. The Karlsberg vineyard's microclimate allows for a long growing season, enabling the Riesling grapes to develop noble rot while preserving the Saar's signature electric acidity. Traditionally fermented in neutral oak Fuder casks and stainless steel, this Auslese beautifully balances luscious sweetness with a piercing mineral backbone, offering complex aromas of candied citrus, dried apricots, wild honey, and wet slate.
