The Piesporter Goldtröpfchen, or 'droplets of gold,' is one of the Mosel's most legendary grand cru vineyards, shaped like a dramatic, south-facing natural amphitheater that traps heat and coaxes Riesling to perfect ripeness. Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt harnesses this unique microclimate and the steep, weathered Devonian slate soils to craft an exquisite Auslese. Historically, this site has been revered since Roman times, with ancient press houses discovered nearby testifying to its millennia-old winemaking heritage. The wine is made from late-harvested, often botrytis-affected grapes, meticulously hand-selected. Fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel to preserve its pristine fruit character, this Auslese beautifully balances luscious natural sweetness with a piercing, vibrant acidity. It offers a complex sensory tapestry of candied peach, dried apricot, wild honey, and a distinct, smoky slate minerality.

Established in 1349, Weingut Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt is one of the Mosel's most venerable estates, boasting a viticultural lineage that spans nearly seven centuries. Acquired by the Reh family in 1978 and revitalized under the stewardship of Annegret Reh-Gartner, the estate is headquartered at Schloss Marienlay in the Ruwer valley. The winery holds an extraordinary portfolio of steep-slope terroirs extending across the Mosel, Saar, and Ruwer valleys, united by varied Devonian blue, red, and grey slate soils and cool, river-moderated microclimates. Sustainable vineyard stewardship emphasizes low yields and selective hand-harvesting.
