Typically best enjoyed 3–15 years from the vintage release, though its vibrant acidity and structural balance allow it to develop beautifully for up to two decades in a cool cellar.

Hailing from the world-renowned Scharzhofberg vineyard in the Saar valley, this wine represents a masterclass in the tension between electric acidity and delicate sweetness. The Scharzhofberg hill, facing south-to-southwest, is characterized by its deep, weathered Devonian slate soils rich in iron, which impart a distinct, smoky minerality to the grapes. Because the Saar is cooler than the Middle Mosel, the grapes undergo a long, slow ripening period, preserving their vibrant acidity. Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt's 'feinherb' (off-dry) bottling of this Kabinett-level Riesling is fermented in stainless steel to preserve its crystalline purity. It captures the essence of this legendary grand cru site, offering a complex bouquet of green apple, white peach, wild herbs, and a salty, flinty mineral finish that has captivated wine lovers for generations.

With a winemaking legacy spanning over 650 years since its establishment in 1349, Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt is one of the Mosel region's most historic and prestigious estates. Based at the majestic Schloss Marienlay in Morscheid, Germany, the estate was long held by the imperial counts of Kesselstatt before being acquired by the Günther Reh family in 1978, who elevated its global reputation under the visionary leadership of the late Annegret Reh-Gartner. The winery is uniquely distinguished by its exceptional vineyard holdings across all three of the region's river valleys—the Mosel, Saar, and Ruwer—including the legendary monopole Josephshof in Graach, as well as prime parcels in Scharzhofberg and Kaseler Nies'chen. Embracing sustainable viticulture and minimal-intervention cellar practices, Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt produces world-class, mineral-driven Rieslings that beautifully articulate their diverse terroirs, ranging from precise, vibrant Kabinetts to legendary, long-lived Trockenbeerenauslese expressions.
