Originally created to mark momentous historic occasions—including the 1938 royal visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to Versailles—this rare bottling is composed of extremely old eaux-de-vie sourced exclusively from the prestigious Grande Champagne district. The terroir here is defined by soft, chalky soils that impart unmatched finesse, complexity, and aging potential to the Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche, and Colombard grapes. Double-distilled in traditional copper Charentais stills and aged for decades in seasoned Limousin oak casks, this Cognac offers a sublime tapestry of dried fruits, rich leather, myrrh, and the elusive, highly prized rancio.
