The 'Fine Champagne' designation is a prestigious appellation requiring that 100% of the eaux-de-vie originate from the two premier crus of the region, Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne, with at least half coming from Grande Champagne. The chalky, limestone-rich soils of these crus impart an unmatched complexity and aging potential. The XO Special is a masterclass in blending, uniting up to 400 different eaux-de-vie aged for up to several decades in French Limousin oak casks. Distilled on the lees in traditional small copper pot stills, this mahogany-hued spirit offers an opulent bouquet of late summer fruits, white flowers like jasmine, and rich notes of cinnamon, hazelnut, and grated chocolate, carrying the legacy of the iconic Centaur emblem.
