Louis XIII Rare Cask 42.1 is an extraordinary, ultra-premium Cognac crafted by the historic house of Rémy Martin. Originating exclusively from the premier cru of the Cognac region, Grande Champagne, this rare release is defined by its chalky soils which yield eaux-de-vie of unmatched aging potential. Discovered by Cellar Master Baptiste Loiseau, this single, exceptional tierçon (ancient oak cask) revealed a unique aromatic profile and an unexpected alcohol strength of 42.1%. Louis XIII itself is a legendary blend of up to 1,200 individual eaux-de-vie, some over a century old, matured in historic French oak barrels. The Rare Cask 42.1 represents a singular moment in time, a natural marvel of patience and heritage, presented in a magnificent black Baccarat crystal decanter that pays homage to a metal flask found on the battlefield of Jarnac in 1569.
