Created to honor the legacy of Robert Mondavi, the visionary who acted as the 'Maestro' of modern Napa Valley winemaking, this artistic red blend was first released to celebrate the winery's 50th anniversary. Sourced primarily from the legendary To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville and Wappo Hill in the Stags Leap District, the wine is a masterful, Bordeaux-style blend typically led by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, complemented by Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Malbec. It is aged in French oak barrels to seamlessly integrate its structure and plush fruit. The wine represents a harmonious symphony of Napa's premier terroirs, offering deep dark fruit flavors, refined tannins, and a subtle touch of dried herbs and sweet spice that pays tribute to Mondavi's enduring passion for classical music and fine art.

Founded in 1966 by visionary vintner Robert Mondavi, Robert Mondavi Winery was established in Oakville with the singular mission of creating Napa Valley wines that could rival the finest estates in the world. Operating from its iconic California Mission-style winery designed by Cliff May, the estate played a pivotal role in pioneering the modern American wine industry, particularly through its stewardship of the historic To Kalon Vineyard. Mondavi championed cutting-edge viticultural techniques, temperature-controlled stainless steel fermentation, French oak barrel aging, and popularized dry-fermented Sauvignon Blanc under the moniker Fumé Blanc.
