Hailing from the historic village of Bergheim, the Haguenau lieu-dit is renowned for its heavy marly-limestone soils, which impart a profound structural power and intense mineral backbone to the wines. Domaine Rolly Gassmann harnesses this terroir to craft a legendary Gewurztraminer Vendanges Tardives, a late-harvest masterpiece. The grapes are left on the vine to achieve overripeness, often kissed by noble rot (botrytis), before being meticulously hand-harvested. In the cellar, Pierre Gassmann practices a philosophy of extreme patience, allowing slow fermentations with indigenous yeasts and aging the wine for years in historic casks and bottles before release. This results in an incredibly opulent, texturally rich nectar bursting with exotic aromas of lychee, ginger, rose petals, and honeyed spices, balanced by a vibrant, life-giving acidity. The wine pays homage to Bergheim's medieval heritage, where winemaking has been a sacred art since the Roman era.

Formed in 1967 through the marriage of two historic viticultural lineages whose roots in the region trace back to 1611 and 1676, Domaine Rolly Gassmann is situated in the village of Rorschwihr in Alsace, France. Today managed by Pierre Gassmann and his family, the estate stewards over 50 hectares planted across an intricate mosaic of distinct geological terroirs with a deep commitment to sustainable and biodynamic principles. The domaine is renowned for its patient philosophy of aging wines in bottle for years or even decades prior to commercial release, allowing them to attain remarkable maturity and harmony. They are internationally celebrated for their opulent, off-dry and sweet white wines—most notably expressive Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Gewurztraminer cuvées alongside legendary Vendanges Tardives and Sélection de Grains Nobles.
