Hailing from the historic clay-limestone soils of Burgundy, 'Les Murelles' is a classic expression of regional Chardonnay crafted by the venerable Roux family. Sourced from carefully selected parcels, this wine captures the essence of Burgundy's terroir-driven winemaking tradition. The Roux family, established in Saint-Aubin since 1885, applies the same meticulous attention to their regional wines as they do to their prestigious Premier and Grand Crus. 'Les Murelles' undergoes traditional fermentation followed by aging in a combination of stainless steel vats and French oak barrels. This harmonious process preserves the vibrant, crisp green apple and citrus core of the Chardonnay grape while imparting a delicate roundness, subtle notes of white flowers, and a touch of toasted hazelnut on the finish.

Domaine Roux Père et Fils blev grundlagt i 1885 af Louis Fernand Roux i Côte de Beaune-landsbyen Saint-Aubin og har gennem fem generationer udviklet sig til et af Bourgognes mest betydningsfulde familieejede vinhuse. I dag ledes domænet af brødrene Mathieu og Sébastien Roux, som råder over mere end 70 hektar egne vinmarker fordelt på over 120 lieux-dits på tværs af Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune og Côte Chalonnaise. Markarbejdet bygger på bæredygtige principper (lutte raisonnée) på overvejende syd- og sydøstvendte skråninger rige på kalksten og mergel. I kælderen sikrer en parcelleret vinificering fuldkommen terroirtroskab, hvor klassisk lagring på franske egetræsfade harmonisk kombineres med moderne modning på ståltanke og terrakotta-amforaer for at bevare frugtens renhed, friskhed og ranke mineralitet. Blandt husets ikoniske vine finder man den mineralske Saint-Aubin Premier Cru Les Cortons, Puligny-Montrachet Les Enseignères, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru samt velstrukturerede pejlemærker som Les Murelles og Côte de Nuits-Villages Pinot Noir.
