Named after the skylark ('Alauda' in Latin) that nests in the sun-drenched vineyards of Ruffino's Poggio Casciano estate near Florence, this exceptional Super Tuscan represents a harmonious dialogue between international elegance and local heritage. The blend artfully combines Cabernet Franc and Merlot with Colorino, an indigenous Tuscan grape prized for its deep color and structured character. Grown in clay-limestone soils, the grapes undergo meticulous selection before aging in French oak barriques for up to two years. The result is a deeply complex, velvety red wine that captures the spirit of modern Tuscan winemaking while remaining deeply rooted in the estate's historic terroir.

Founded in 1877 by cousins Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino in Pontassieve near Florence, Ruffino has grown to become one of the most iconic ambassadors of Tuscan winemaking. The estate gained early prestige as an official supplier to the Italian royal court, immortalized in its flagship Riserva Ducale, first crafted in 1927 in honor of the Duke of Aosta.
