Ruffino's Aziano is a vibrant testament to the historic Chianti Classico region of Tuscany, crafted by a house whose winemaking legacy dates back to 1877. Founded by cousins Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino in Pontassieve, the winery quickly became synonymous with Tuscan quality, even earning a royal warrant from the Duke of Aosta in the late 19th century. Aziano represents a modern yet deeply respectful homage to the traditional 'Gallo Nero' (Black Rooster) territory. Primarily composed of Sangiovese, alongside small percentages of complementary red varieties, the wine is sourced from select hillside vineyards where clay-limestone soils (galestro) impart a signature mineral tension. Fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel and concrete tanks, Aziano avoids heavy oak influence to preserve the grape's natural, bright red cherry aromatics, violet notes, and lively acidity, offering a pure and approachable expression of the Tuscan terroir.

Founded in 1877 by cousins Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino in Pontassieve near Florence, Ruffino has grown to become one of the most iconic ambassadors of Tuscan winemaking.
