Lumina Pinot Grigio
β³ Drinking Window
2026 - 2028
π· Vintage Profile
The 2024 growing season across the Delle Venezie DOC opened with an exceptionally wet and cool spring, demanding rigorous canopy interventions under sustainable protocols to mitigate downy mildew pressure. Drier, warmer conditions took hold from mid-summer through late August, allowing Pinot Grigio grapes to reach balanced phenolic maturity while preserving bright, natural malic and tartaric acidity. The resulting harvest yielded aromatic whites marked by crisp citrus tension, moderate alcohol levels, and linear freshness. At peak aromatic expression in 2026, the 2024 vintage is intended for immediate enjoyment through 2027.

β¨ Technical Specifications
Sourced primarily from alluvial, gravel-laced clay vineyards across the northeastern plains of the Tre Venezie area, Lumina emphasizes varietal purity and vibrant freshness. Grapes undergo gentle pressing followed by temperature-controlled fermentation strictly in stainless steel vats to prevent malolactic conversion and preserve lively natural acidity. The wine rests briefly on fine lees prior to bottling without oak contact, resulting in a crisp, clean aromatic profile marked by citrus blossom, green apple, and subtle mineral tension.
πΎ About the Producer
Established in 1877 by cousins Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino in Pontassieve near Florence, Ruffino is one of Tuscany's defining historic houses, instrumental in introducing classic Chianti to the international arena. Originally honored as official suppliers to the Italian royal court, the estate expanded significantly under the Folonari family before becoming the Italian flagship for Constellation Brands. Today, Ruffino oversees hundreds of hectares spanning iconic Tuscan terroirsβincluding Chianti Classico, Montalcino, and Bolgheriβas well as estates in the Veneto. Vineyard holdings feature galestro- and alberese-rich marls, limestone, and clay terraces situated at optimal elevations with warm, sun-drenched diurnal shifts. Under chief winemaker Gabriele Tacconi, viticulture emphasizes complete organic certification and rigorous biodiversity standards. The estate's stylistic identity balances traditional Tuscan structural depth with polished precision, anchored by historical benchmarks such as Chianti Classico Riserva Ducale, the Gran Selezione benchmark Riserva Ducale Oro, the Super Tuscan Modus, and fresh regional expressions like Lumina Pinot Grigio.
