Hailing from the sun-drenched hills of Tuscany, Santa Margherita's Riserva represents a harmonious marriage of historic tradition and modern winemaking precision. This red wine is typically crafted from a base of Sangiovese, the signature grape of the region, often complemented by small additions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The grapes are sourced from selected vineyards in the heart of Tuscany, where the soil—rich in clay and limestone—imparts a distinctive mineral complexity and structured tannins. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes traditional aging in oak casks, allowing the vibrant cherry and wild berry notes to integrate beautifully with nuances of spice, leather, and vanilla. This wine pays homage to the legacy of Count Gaetano Marzotto, who founded Santa Margherita in 1935 with a vision to champion Italy's diverse agricultural terroirs.

Santa Margherita blev grundlagt i 1935 af grev Gaetano Marzotto og startede som et ambitiøst landbrugsprojekt i Fossalta di Portogruaro. Sidenhen har vinhuset udviklet sig til et af Italiens mest ikoniske og internationalt anerkendte vinhuse. I 1961 revolutionerede vineriet den globale vinkultur, da det som pioner introducerede hvidvinificering af de rosafarvede Pinot Grigio-druer i Adige-dalen. Det resulterede i en frisk, sprød og aromatisk stil, som genopfandt italiensk hvidvin. I dag råder Santa Margherita over førsteklasses vinmarker i nogle af Italiens mest berømte terroirs, herunder Alto Adige, Valdobbiadene, Toscana og Lombardiet.
