Crafted by the historic house of Santa Margherita, the 'Rive di Refrontolo' represents the pinnacle of Prosecco Superiore DOCG craftsmanship. The term 'Rive' denotes wines sourced exclusively from steep, hand-harvested hillside vineyards within a single commune—in this case, the sun-drenched slopes of Refrontolo. Here, ancient clay-marl soils and dramatic diurnal temperature shifts impart a distinct mineral tension and concentrated aromatics to the Glera grape. Utilizing the Charmat-Martinotti method with extended lees aging, Santa Margherita coaxes out a refined, creamy effervescence, balancing vibrant green apple and white peach notes with delicate floral undertones of wisteria and acacia. This cuvée celebrates the heroic viticulture of a UNESCO World Heritage landscape, where growers have tended these vertical slopes for generations.

Santa Margherita blev grundlagt i 1935 af grev Gaetano Marzotto og startede som et ambitiøst landbrugsprojekt i Fossalta di Portogruaro. Sidenhen har vinhuset udviklet sig til et af Italiens mest ikoniske og internationalt anerkendte vinhuse. I 1961 revolutionerede vineriet den globale vinkultur, da det som pioner introducerede hvidvinificering af de rosafarvede Pinot Grigio-druer i Adige-dalen. Det resulterede i en frisk, sprød og aromatisk stil, som genopfandt italiensk hvidvin. I dag råder Santa Margherita over førsteklasses vinmarker i nogle af Italiens mest berømte terroirs, herunder Alto Adige, Valdobbiadene, Toscana og Lombardiet.
