Scheid Vineyards' Gewurztraminer is a vibrant expression of Monterey County's unique cool-climate terroir. Grown in the wind-swept Salinas Valley, where the morning fog and chilly winds from the deep Monterey Bay submarine canyon slow the ripening process, this wine benefits from an extended growing season. This 'refrigerator effect' allows the notoriously finicky Gewurztraminer grape to develop its signature intense aromatics while retaining a crisp, balanced acidity. Scheid's winemaking team utilizes cold fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve the delicate, exotic fruit and floral characteristics of the variety, capturing the grape's historic Alsatian heritage with a bright, modern Californian twist.

Scheid Vineyards blev grundlagt i 1972 af Al Scheid og er en pionervirksomhed beliggende i hjertet af Salinas Valley i Californiens Monterey County. Gennem fem årtier har den familieejede vingård udvidet sit virke til tolv unikke vinmarker, hvor man udnytter den markante, kølende havbrise fra Monterey Bay til at dyrke en bred vifte af druesorter. Vingården er dybt engageret i bæredygtighed, drives udelukkende af vedvarende vindenergi og arbejder efter strenge, certificerede bæredygtige principper. Scheid Vineyards er anerkendt for sin alsidige portefølje af levende hvid-, rød- og rosévine og fremstiller både roste enkeltdruevine på eksempelvis Cabernet Sauvignon, Albariño og Barbera samt håndværksmæssige cuvéer som deres Claret Reserve.
