✨ Technical Specifications

Hailing from the cool, limestone-rich slopes of Savigny-lès-Beaune, the 'Les Clous' climat is highly regarded for producing white Burgundy of exceptional tension and mineral drive. The name 'Clous' is a historical nod to the ancient stone-walled enclosures ('clos') that once dotted this hilly landscape. Crafted from 100% Chardonnay, Seguin-Manuel's expression of this terroir benefits from organic farming practices and a gentle, low-intervention vinification. Fermented and aged in French oak casks with a judicious use of new wood, the wine beautifully balances the natural, crisp acidity of the high-altitude site with a subtle, creamy texture and notes of white flowers, flint, and fresh pear. It stands as a testament to the elegance and precision that modern Burgundy can achieve when respecting historical terroirs.

🍾 About the Producer

Originally established in Savigny-lès-Beaune in 1824, Domaine Seguin-Manuel was completely revitalized in 2004 when acquired by Thibaut Marion, a tenth-generation vigneron formerly of Chanson Père & Fils. Relocating headquarters and cellars to Beaune, Marion modernized winemaking facilities and assembled a domaine footprint spanning roughly 8.5 hectares across Savigny-lès-Beaune, Beaune, Pommard, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, and Vosne-Romanée, supplemented by a meticulous micro-négociant operation. Vineyard management adheres strictly to certified organic viticulture, utilizing rigorous canopy pruning, plowing to encourage deep root penetration, and deliberate low yields. In the cuverie, fruit is hand-harvested and sorted meticulously, followed by gentle vinification with native yeasts and maturation in fine-grained French oak with restrained new wood usage. Seguin-Manuel's benchmark bottlings—such as Beaune Premier Cru Clos des Mouches, Savigny-lès-Beaune Premier Cru Aux Guettes, and Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru La Garenne—embody classical Côte de Beaune precision, marrying pure red and black fruit profiles or flinty mineral tension with supple, well-integrated structural depth.
