Established in 1934 by Croatian immigrant Marino Selak in West Auckland, Selaks stands as one of New Zealand's foundational modern wine producers. After planting early vines in Henderson and later relocating to Kumeu in the 1960s under nephew Mate Selak, the house played an instrumental role in introducing New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc to international acclaim during the early 1980s.
