Crafted only in exceptional vintages when nature allows, the Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese (TBA) Nr6 represents the pinnacle of Mosel dessert winemaking. The Zeltinger Sonnenuhr (sundial) vineyard, named after the historic sundial erected in 1620 to guide vineyard workers, features incredibly steep slopes of weathered devonian blue slate. To produce this rare nectar, skilled pickers meticulously harvest individually shriveled, botrytis-affected grapes berry by berry. In the cellar, the extremely concentrated juice undergoes a painstakingly slow fermentation, often lasting months, before aging in traditional large oak Fuder casks. The resulting wine is a breathtaking balance of luscious sweetness and vibrant, electric acidity, showing complex notes of dried apricots, honey, and intense slate minerality.

With a winemaking heritage in the Mosel region dating back to 1661, Selbach-Oster is a benchmark estate located at Uferallee 23, 54492 Zeltingen-Rachtig, Germany. Under the dedicated stewardship of Johannes Selbach and his family, the winery meticulously farms steep, slate-rich grand cru slopes, including the celebrated Zeltinger Schlossberg, Zeltinger Himmelreich, and Wehlener Sonnenuhr. The estate's production philosophy honors traditional methods, utilizing natural yeasts and aging in classic, large oak Fuder casks to preserve the pristine character of the fruit. This hands-off approach yields exceptionally precise, mineral-driven Rieslings that span the spectrum from crisp Kabinett to rare Eisweins, all documented on their official website at https://www.selbach-oster.de.
