Spier's Ideology Chardonnay Chenin Blanc Viognier is a white blend produced in the Coastal Region of South Africa. The Coastal Region's diverse soils, including decomposed granite and shale, along with cooling maritime breezes, shape the character of the grapes. The blend typically combines the structural weight of Chardonnay, the vibrant acidity and stone fruit notes of Chenin Blanc, and the aromatic, floral lift of Viognier. Vinification generally involves a combination of stainless steel tank fermentation to preserve fresh primary fruit characters and partial aging in seasoned French oak barrels to enhance texture and complexity without overpowering the fruit.
