Suntory Old Whisky, first introduced in 1950, is one of Japan's most iconic and historically significant blended whiskies. Affectionately nicknamed 'Daruma' due to its distinctive squat, round black bottle resembling the traditional Japanese wishing doll, it became a symbol of Japan's rapid post-war economic resurgence and a staple of salaryman culture. The 'Expo 83' edition is a highly collectible commemorative bottling created to celebrate the regional expositions held in Japan during 1983. This blend showcases Suntory's traditional style of the era: a rich, smooth, and slightly sweet profile with notes of dried fruit, vanilla, and subtle oak, crafted using malt and grain whiskies primarily from the historic Yamazaki distillery.
