Suntory Old Whisky, first introduced in 1950, is one of Japan's most historically significant blended whiskies. Affectionately nicknamed 'Daruma' due to its squat, dark bottle resembling the traditional Japanese wishing doll, it became a symbol of post-war prosperity and refined Japanese craftsmanship. This special 'Rabbit' edition belongs to Suntory's celebrated annual Lunar New Year zodiac series, featuring elegant artistry honoring the Year of the Rabbit. The blend itself is meticulously composed of malt and grain whiskies sourced from Suntory's premier distilleries, including Yamazaki and Hakushu. It offers a classic, smooth profile characterized by rich notes of sweet vanilla, dried orchard fruits, subtle oak, and a harmonious, warming finish that reflects the traditional Japanese art of blending.

Suntory blev grundlagt i 1899 af Shinjiro Torii i Osaka, Japan. Huset startede oprindeligt som en beskeden vinhandel, men revolutionerede siden drikkevareverdenen, da de i 1923 grundlagde Yamazaki Distillery og dermed banede vejen for autentisk japansk whisky. Drevet af pionerånden 'Yatte Minahare' – modet til at drømme stort og favne dristige udfordringer – udviklede huset en filosofi forankret i sublimt håndværk og en dyb ærefrygt for naturen.
