✨ Technical Specifications
Domaine Sylvaine & Alain Normand is located in La Roche-Vineuse in the Mâconnais subregion of southern Burgundy. The Mâcon-La Roche-Vineuse appellation is distinguished by its limestone-rich soils and favorable amphitheater-like slopes. Made from 100% Chardonnay sourced from old vines (Vieilles Vignes), this wine undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation and aging primarily in stainless steel with a small portion in oak barrels to preserve its vibrant fruit, floral freshness, and limestone-driven minerality while adding subtle depth and texture.
🍾 About the Producer
Established in 1993 by Alain Normand in the picturesque village of La Roche-Vineuse, Domaine Sylvaine & Alain Normand represents one of the benchmark artisanal estates of the southern Mâconnais in Burgundy. The domaine grew significantly when Alain was joined in 2010 by his wife Sylvaine, combining prized vineyard holdings that span exceptional limestone and clay terroirs across Mâcon, Saint-Véran, and Pouilly-Fuissé. Guided by a philosophy of meticulous, sustainable viticulture and gentle, temperature-controlled vinification, the Normands focus on expressing the natural tension and mineral purity of the region. Their portfolio, epitomized by signature bottlings like the Mâcon La Roche-Vineuse Vieilles Vignes, is renowned for producing expressive, vibrant white Burgundies defined by aromatic precision and elegant texture.
