First created in the legendary 1952 vintage, Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs is the ultimate expression of Taittinger's house style, paying homage to the Counts of Champagne, particularly Thibaud IV, who legend says brought the ancestor of Chardonnay back from the Crusades. This prestige cuvée is crafted exclusively from 100% Grand Cru Chardonnay grapes harvested from the prestigious soils of the Côte des Blancs—specifically the villages of Avize, Chouilly, Cramant, Mesnil-sur-Oger, and Oger. To achieve its sublime complexity, only the first-press juice is used, and a small portion of the blend is aged in oak casks to impart subtle toasted notes. The wine then undergoes a slow, patient maturation of up to a decade deep within the UNESCO-protected, Gallo-Roman chalk cellars beneath the Abbey of Saint-Nicaise in Reims. The result is a masterpiece of tension, mineral precision, and creamy texture, boasting notes of white flowers, brioche, and candied citrus.

Tracing its foundations back to 1734 when the original house was established by Jacques Fourneaux, Champagne Taittinger took its modern identity in 1932 under the visionary leadership of Pierre Taittinger. Headquartered in Reims within the historic Champagne region of France, the family-owned house matures its finest cuvées inside UNESCO-listed Gallo-Roman chalk caves beneath the ancient Abbey of Saint-Nicaise.
