Talisker 18 Year Old is a masterpiece of maritime single malt whisky, representing the rugged elegance of the Isle of Skye. Born from the distillery's unique five-still setup and traditional worm tubs, this expression is aged for eighteen years in a combination of American oak bourbon and European oak sherry casks. This extended maturation tempers the distillery's signature fiery pepper and intense peat smoke, weaving them into a sophisticated tapestry of rich plum, orange peel, sweet butterscotch, and a subtle, warming coastal brine. Famously named the 'Best Single Malt Whisky in the World' at the 2007 World Whiskies Awards, it stands as a testament to the MacAskill brothers' legacy, who founded the distillery in 1830 despite the protests of local clergy who feared the spirit's tempting nature.

Talisker blev grundlagt i 1830 af brødrene Hugh og Kenneth MacAskill ved de vindblæste bredder af Loch Harport i Carbost og er det ældste aktive destilleri på Isle of Skye.
