The Talisker 30 Year Old Bottled in 2007 is a legendary jewel in Diageo's annual Special Releases, representing the pinnacle of the Isle of Skye's rugged, maritime distilling heritage. Distilled in the late 1970s and matured for three decades in refill American and European oak casks, this rare single malt showcases how time tames the fierce, peppery spirit of Talisker into a sublime, elegant masterpiece. The Isle of Skye's dramatic coastline, battered by Atlantic storms, infuses the whisky with a distinct coastal salinity. The distillery's traditional wooden worm tubs and unique five-still setup preserve the heavy, oily texture of the spirit, allowing it to develop complex layers of beeswax, soft peat smoke, dried fruits, and a lingering, warming spice over its thirty-year slumber.

Talisker blev grundlagt i 1830 af brødrene Hugh og Kenneth MacAskill ved de vindblæste bredder af Loch Harport i Carbost og er det ældste aktive destilleri på Isle of Skye. Destilleriet er berømt for sit unikke destillationsapparat med svanehalsede wash stills og traditionelle, udendørs worm tubs (kondenseringskar), som tilfører råspritten en karakteristisk maritim og vulkansk intensitet.
