Hailing from the rugged, windswept shores of the Isle of Skye, 'The Wild Explorador' is a captivating expression from Talisker, released as part of Diageo's prestigious 2023 Special Releases collection under the 'Spirited Xchange' theme. This cask-strength single malt pays homage to the Portuguese caravel ships that braved the open seas, mirroring Skye's own maritime heritage. In a bold stylistic departure, this whisky was finished in a combination of Ruby, White, and Tawny Port casks. This unique maturation marries Talisker's legendary coastal character—defined by intense peat smoke, brine, and a trademark cracked black pepper kick—with the rich, succulent sweetness of dark stone fruits, ripe berries, and warming spices. The result is a dramatic, multi-layered spirit that captures the untamed spirit of exploration.

Talisker blev grundlagt i 1830 af brødrene Hugh og Kenneth MacAskill ved de vindblæste bredder af Loch Harport i Carbost og er det ældste aktive destilleri på Isle of Skye.
