Hailing from the wind-swept, rugged shores of the Isle of Skye, this expression represents a masterclass in wood finishing. The Talisker Distillers Edition undergoes a unique double-maturation process, taking the distillery's signature volcanic, peat-smoked, and sea-salted single malt and finishing it in ex-Amoroso sherry casks. Amoroso, a rich and sweetened style of Oloroso sherry, imparts a luxurious layer of dark fruits, cacao, and rounded sweetness that beautifully juxtaposes Talisker's fierce maritime character. According to local lore, the wild storms of Skye infuse the maturing spirit with the very essence of the Atlantic, a coastal peatiness that is wonderfully tamed and complexed here by the Spanish oak, resulting in a dramatic harmony of peat smoke, sweet raisins, and a trademark cracked black pepper finish.

Talisker blev grundlagt i 1830 af brødrene Hugh og Kenneth MacAskill ved de vindblæste bredder af Loch Harport i Carbost og er det ældste aktive destilleri på Isle of Skye.
