Talisker's Distillers Edition represents a masterful marriage of rugged maritime peat and luscious Spanish sherry sweetness. Distilled on the windswept Isle of Skye, this single malt undergoes a secondary maturation in casks that previously held Amoroso, a rich and sweetened style of Oloroso sherry. This double maturation tempers Talisker's trademark explosive black pepper, coastal brine, and intense peat smoke with deep, velvety notes of dried fruits, dark chocolate, and roasted nuts. The history of Talisker is deeply intertwined with the harsh, beautiful landscape of Skye, where the distillery's coastal location allows the sea air to influence the casks during aging, creating a dramatic contrast between the fiery island spirit and the warm, sweet Andalusian wood.

Talisker blev grundlagt i 1830 af brødrene Hugh og Kenneth MacAskill ved de vindblæste bredder af Loch Harport i Carbost og er det ældste aktive destilleri på Isle of Skye. Destilleriet er berømt for sit unikke destillationsapparat med svanehalsede wash stills og traditionelle, udendørs worm tubs (kondenseringskar), som tilfører råspritten en karakteristisk maritim og vulkansk intensitet.
