Talisker's Distillers Edition represents a harmonious marriage of rugged maritime peat and luscious Spanish sherry sweetness. This specific release, double matured and finished in Amoroso sherry casks, carries the batch code TD-S: 5HT and was bottled in 2005. The double maturation process takes the classic, fiery, peat-and-pepper character of the Isle of Skye's historic distillery and softens it with rich, fruity, and nutty notes from the seasoned Amoroso wood. According to local lore, the wild, wind-swept shores of Carbost infuse the maturing spirit with its signature sea-salt tang, which beautifully contrasts with the decadent, dried-fruit sweetness of the sherry finish. Talisker blev grundlagt i 1830 af brødrene Hugh og Kenneth MacAskill ved de vindblæste bredder af Loch Harport i Carbost og er det ældste aktive destilleri på Isle of Skye.
