Talisker 18 Year Old is a masterpiece of maritime single malt whisky, reflecting the rugged, wind-swept beauty of the Isle of Skye. While the distillery's younger expressions are famous for their fiery, explosive black pepper and intense peat smoke, eighteen years of maturation in a combination of American oak ex-bourbon and European oak ex-sherry casks tempers this wild spirit into an elegant, complex masterpiece. The maritime character remains central, evoking sea spray, iodine, and beach bonfires, but it is beautifully integrated with rich notes of dark plum, orange peel, sweet butterscotch, and a refined, warming peat smoke. The distillery's unique U-shaped wash stills and traditional wooden worm tubs—cooled by the cold Skye air—impart an oily, full-bodied texture that carries these complex flavors gracefully across the palate.

Talisker blev grundlagt i 1830 af brødrene Hugh og Kenneth MacAskill ved de vindblæste bredder af Loch Harport i Carbost og er det ældste aktive destilleri på Isle of Skye.
