Talisker's 30 Year Old is a masterclass in patience and maritime maturation, capturing the wild, tempestuous spirit of the Isle of Skye and refining it through three decades of slumber in oak casks. The 2012 bottling represents a rare, highly elegant expression where the distillery's signature fiery black pepper and intense peat smoke have softened into a complex tapestry of maritime brine, beeswax, dried tropical fruits, and gentle warming spice. Legend has it that the distillery's seaside location in Carbost allows the salty Atlantic gales to breathe through the warehouse walls, imparting a distinct coastal salinity to the maturing spirit. This expression showcases the incredible depth that comes from Talisker's traditional wooden worm tubs and slow distillation, offering a sublime balance of mature oak and coastal power.

Talisker blev grundlagt i 1830 af brødrene Hugh og Kenneth MacAskill ved de vindblæste bredder af Loch Harport i Carbost og er det ældste aktive destilleri på Isle of Skye.
