Talisker Port Ruighe, pronounced 'Portree', is a captivating single malt that pays homage to the intrepid Scottish merchants who braved treacherous seas to trade with Portugal, bringing back rich Port casks. This expression combines the rugged, windswept maritime character of the Isle of Skye with the sweet, velvety warmth of the Douro Valley. Double-matured in deeply charred ruby port casks, it weaves Talisker's signature peat smoke, brine, and fiery black pepper with luscious notes of dark plum, ripe red berries, and rich cocoa. The traditional wooden worm tubs of the distillery impart an oily, full-bodied texture that beautifully carries this complex interplay of smoke and sweet fruit.

Talisker blev grundlagt i 1830 af brødrene Hugh og Kenneth MacAskill ved de vindblæste bredder af Loch Harport i Carbost og er det ældste aktive destilleri på Isle of Skye. Destilleriet er berømt for sit unikke destillationsapparat med svanehalsede wash stills og traditionelle, udendørs worm tubs (kondenseringskar), som tilfører råspritten en karakteristisk maritim og vulkansk intensitet. Talisker er i dag en del af Diageos Classic Malts-portefølje og fastholder en kompromisløs dedikation til at skabe kraftfulde, røgede single malt skotske whiskyer.
