Part of Diageo's highly anticipated 2020 'Rare by Nature' Special Releases, this adventurous expression from the Isle of Skye's oldest operating distillery breaks traditional boundaries. Distilled on the wind-whipped shores of Carbost, the spirit spent eight years maturing, culminating in a finish in active Caribbean rum casks. This experimental finishing technique marries Talisker's legendary maritime character—defined by intense peat smoke, brine, and a trademark fiery black pepper punch—with the exotic, sweet warmth of the tropics. The result is a dramatic sensory clash where coastal peat meets notes of ripe banana, molasses, and sweet woodspice, all delivered at a powerful cask strength that highlights the distillery's classic oily texture, achieved through their traditional wooden worm tubs.

Talisker blev grundlagt i 1830 af brødrene Hugh og Kenneth MacAskill ved de vindblæste bredder af Loch Harport i Carbost og er det ældste aktive destilleri på Isle of Skye.
