The Talisker Xpedition Oak 43 Year Old is a monumental release from the Isle of Skye's oldest operating distillery, representing a masterful fusion of extreme age and adventurous spirit. This ultra-rare single malt was matured for over four decades before being finished in casks crafted with staves that traversed the Atlantic Ocean on a 3,269-mile journey with adventurer James Aiken. This epic voyage mirrors the maritime heritage of the MacAskill brothers who founded the distillery in 1830 after rowing from Eigg to Skye. The resulting whisky is a sublime expression of Talisker's signature style, where the fierce, peppery peat smoke and coastal brine of Skye have been softened by time into elegant layers of sweet orchard fruit, rich sandalwood, waxy honey, and a gentle, warming bonfire smoke.
