This legendary expression represents a golden era of distilling on the Isle of Skye. Before the introduction of the iconic 10 Year Old in 1988, the 8 Year Old was Talisker's flagship malt. Bottled in the 1970s at 80 proof, this bottle contains spirit distilled during the 1960s, a period when Talisker still utilized floor maltings and coal-fired stills until 1972. Known affectionately as 'The Golden Spirit of the Isle of Skye,' this historic single malt is celebrated for its intense, old-school maritime character, combining heavy peat smoke, coastal brine, and a distinct waxy texture derived from the distillery's traditional wooden worm tubs. It offers a fascinating liquid archive of Skye's rugged, windswept terroir and mid-century distilling craftsmanship.

Talisker blev grundlagt i 1830 af brødrene Hugh og Kenneth MacAskill ved de vindblæste bredder af Loch Harport i Carbost og er det ældste aktive destilleri på Isle of Skye.
