Sourced from the rugged, sun-drenched slopes of the Luberon in the far south of the Rhône Valley, Tardieu-Laurent's 'Grandes Bastides' pays homage to the historic, fortified country estates—known as bastides—that dot this picturesque landscape. In this cooler, high-altitude microclimate, old vines of Grenache and Syrah dig deep into clay and limestone-rich soils. Michel and Bastien Tardieu apply their signature micro-négoce precision here, capturing the wild, aromatic essence of the local garrigue, lavender, and dark forest fruits. The wine undergoes careful aging in select oak barrels, marrying the rustic charm of the Southern Rhône with a polished, elegant structure that showcases the true potential of this scenic appellation.

Established in 1994 by Michel Tardieu and Dominique Laurent at Les Sables, Route de Cucuron, 84160 Lourmarin, France, Tardieu-Laurent is one of the Rhône Valley's premier micro-négoce houses. Now managed by Michel and his son Bastien, the estate is renowned for its meticulous sourcing of fruit exclusively from very old vines across prestigious northern and southern Rhône appellations. Their philosophy centers on minimal intervention and precise, customized barrel aging, utilizing top-tier oak casks to craft wines of exceptional depth, structure, and terroir expression, such as the elegant Les Becs Fins Rouge and the refined Nobles Origines Blanc.
