The Tedeschi family, legendary pioneers of Valpolicella since 1630, created 'Ga.Ry' as a playful and innovative departure from their famous red wines. The name itself is a clever portmanteau representing its unique grape blend: Garganega ('Ga'), the historic white grape of the Veneto, and Rhine Riesling ('Ry'). Grown in the mineral-rich clay and limestone soils of the Veronese hills, this wine beautifully marries the local heritage of Garganega—which brings structure, white flower aromas, and a signature bitter almond finish—with the vibrant acidity, petrol notes, and citrusy drive of Riesling. Vinified entirely in stainless steel with light lees contact, it preserves the pristine purity of both varieties, resulting in a white wine of remarkable freshness, tension, and aromatic complexity.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Established in 1824 when Nicolò Tedeschi purchased his first vineyards, the Tedeschi estate is located in Pedemonte, in the heart of the Valpolicella Classico region of Veneto, Italy. Owned and managed by the Tedeschi family for generations, the winery is highly respected for its commitment to terroir-driven research, clonal selection, and the traditional appassimento grape-drying process. They are particularly renowned for pioneering single-vineyard Amarone wines, most notably from the iconic Monte Olmi vineyard acquired in 1918. Their exceptional portfolio includes acclaimed expressions like the Marne 180 Amarone, the elegant Maternigo, and the historic Capitel Monte Olmi Riserva, representing the pinnacle of Valpolicella winemaking.
