โณ Drinking Window
2025 - 2050
๐ท Vintage Profile
The 2015 vintage in Bolgheri was defined by a textbook Mediterranean season, featuring a mild, wet winter that replenished water reserves followed by a warm, dry spring that ensured regular flowering. Sustained heat throughout July was moderated by mid-August rainfall and cooling coastal maritime breezes, generating strong diurnal shifts that preserved vibrant acidity while allowing Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc to achieve complete phenolic ripeness. Harvesting occurred under optimal dry conditions, resulting in grapes with ripe, finely textured tannins, remarkable aromatic depth, and balanced alcohol. Widely lauded upon release as one of the quintessential modern expressions of this cuvรฉe, the wine is entering its optimal drinking window in 2026, possessing the concentration and structural stamina to evolve gracefully through 2045.

โจ Technical Specifications
The 2015 Sassicaia is a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc, sourced from estate vineyards in the Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC characterized by stony, limestone-rich soils and a maritime climate. The 2015 growing season in Bolgheri was marked by a warm, dry summer with timely late-August rains, allowing for optimal phenolic ripeness. The wine was fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats with maceration lasting approximately 12 to 15 days. It was aged for 24 months in French oak barriques (one-third new) and refined in the bottle prior to release.
๐พ About the Producer
Situated along the Tyrrhenian coast in the Tuscan Maremma, Tenuta San Guido is the birthplace of the modern Super Tuscan phenomenon. Founded when Marchese Mario Incisa della Rocchetta recognized an affinity between Bolgheriโs gravelly soils and Bordeaux's Graves, the estate planted its first Cabernet vines near Castiglioncello di Bolgheri in 1944. Sassicaia remained a strictly private family vintage until its historic commercial debut with the 1968 vintage. Spanning roughly 2,500 hectares of biodiverse woodlands, wildlife sanctuaries, and thoroughbred pastures, only approximately 100 hectares are under vine. The vineyards thrive under maritime breezes and intense light, rooted in stony, limestone- and clay-rich alluvial terraces. Crafted predominantly from Cabernet Sauvignon alongside Cabernet Franc and aged in French oak barriques, Sassicaia achieved the unprecedented distinction of its own standalone single-estate appellation, DOC Bolgheri Sassicaia. Alongside Guidalberto and Le Difese, the estate's benchmark reds are celebrated worldwide for their aristocratic structure, savory cassis and cedar aromatics, and extraordinary cellar longevity.
