Hailing from the sun-drenched hills of Gagauzia in southern Moldova, the Loza Merlot Dry is a tribute to the region's deep-seated viticultural ancestry. The name 'Loza' translates to 'grapevine,' a poetic nod to the ancient vines that have defined the Moldovan landscape for centuries. In this warm, semi-arid microclimate, the Merlot grape finds an ideal home, benefiting from hot summer days and cooling breeze currents from the Black Sea basin. Det historiske moldoviske vinhus Tomai (Tomai-Vinex) blev grundlagt i 1903 og har hjemme i landsbyen Tomai i den solbeskinnede sydlige region Gagauzien.
